Review: Hollywood Stars Dog Treats in Liver Flavor

If you have older dogs, you know that tooth decay or missing teeth from dental care can make it difficult for them to chew hard dog biscuits. My 12-year-old Shih Tzu Shelby has had dental care during her life that required tooth extraction -- she has never been into chew toys. Her teeth weren't cleaned or scraped through chewing bones or toys.

I discovered the Hollywood Stars dog treats during a shopping trip to one of the nation's largest retailers. The treats are small and soft nuggets -- perfect for Shelby. The 4 oz. milk cartons of dog treats in liver and yogurt flavor were on the bottom shelf in the dog treat section. "Made in the USA" and the retail price of $0.96 caught my interest. I bought two cartons. My Papillon Lucy helped me review the treats.

The liver flavor is advertised to be a skin and coat formula. According to JRB Foods, Inc., who manufacture the treats, the real chicken and linoleic acid, which occurs naturally, help nourish your dog's fur and skin. Linoleic acid is a polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acid.
